Module 1: Including and Supporting a Child with Down’s syndrome in Your School

This module aims to ensure you feel confident to meet the additional support needs and positively include children and young people with Down’s syndrome in your nursery or school.

Module content:

• What Down’s syndrome is, associated features and health issues that affect learning and development
• Development and learning profile of children with Down’s syndrome
• Effective strategies to positively support inclusion and tailor learning to meet specific needs

Please be aware that the fee is per person attending the session.

Training will take place using Microsoft Teams.

Please ensure you are able to access Microsoft Teams from your chosen device, prior to joining the session. Some schools/nurseries may need to consult with their IT department to arrange this.

The Teams link will be emailed to you ahead of time (usually 2 days before) from info@dsscotland.org.uk.
